New Photography Gallery Opens in London

Diemar / Noble is a leading photography gallery in London. Now stock and exhibit work from the whole cannon of photography, from 19th Century masters to contemporary artists.

Richard Heeps Workshop at Long Road.

Cambridge based photographer, Richard Heeps will be running a workshop working with AS Photography students to document the college. This is a fantastic opportunity and the resulting work will be exhibited at the college in September 2009.

The slideshow gives a selection of Richard's work from a variety of projects.

To sign up for the workshop collect a permission from Photography and return to finance office with payment by Friday 15th May.

Every afternoon at 3.45pm this week, there is a 15 minute programme on Photography.

Monday:  Rankin.  

Adil spends a day watching top fashion photographer Rankin in action as he tries to capture members of the public with 'the look' that defines Britain today. 

Tuesday:   Nick Turpin

Adil joins street photographer Nick Turpin in the heart of London as he tries to capture the buzz of the nation's capital at work and play.

Wednesday:  Wedding photographers

Adil talks to brides-to-be as they nervously prepare for their big moment - their first ever photo shoot involves wearing little more than their finest underwear.

Thursday: Tim Flach

Adil joins Tim Flach as he attempts to photograph two contrasting types of dog, pedigree Chinese Crested show dogs and Stafforshire Bull Terriers from Battersea Dogs Home.

Friday: Richard Foster

Adil dresses up to meet Richard Foster, the photographer behind glitzy boots and glittering watches in glossy magazines.

A2 Controlled Test

If you haven't been able to get into college because of the snow, the details of the exam are below:

The Controlled Test will take place in late April - when you collect your exam paper from college you will receive notification of your timetabled days.

Tripods for Sale

1. Manfrotto 390
Alumininium (I think), weight ~1.5kg, closed height 58cm, extended height 160cm, 4 section screw tighten legs, integral 3 way pan-tilt head. I don't have the load bearing, but it will take a medium-format SLR and probably even a large format. Used this as a "studio" tripod since it fairly heavy and bulky. It doesn't have a cover but I have the original box.

2. Manfrotto digi-718SHB
Aluminium, weight ~1.0kg, closed height 40cm, extended height 125cm. 4 section lever-tighten legs, integral 3 way pan-tilt head. The load bearing is less than the 390, but will comfortably take my Bronica 645. Comes with carry case.
This is more worn; one scratch, and most of the non-essential rubber finishes (feet etc) have been lost. Great for shooting outdoors because of the light weight and small size but a lowish extended height

The sixth annual Environmental Photographer of the Year award is now open for entries. The competition, organised by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, is open to all photographers and calls for images of environmental and social issues.

Categories this year include changing climates, quality of life and the natural world. Winning and commended images will be displayed at the Environmental Photographer of the Year exhibition in London.

The competition is open until 31 July.
